Karen Gillighan

Owner & Lesson Program Coordinator

Karen began riding at the age of 12 and quickly fell in love with dressage because of the communication between horse and rider.  She rode and competed up to Third Level Dressage as a young adult.  When it became apparent that her Hanoverian gelding Beaujolais (BJ) preferred jumping to dressage, Karen decided to give the hunter ring a try.  BJ took to it like a duck to water and Karen discovered a new passion.  She then competed in Adult Amateur Hunter, Non-Pro Hunter and Equitation with her new horse Finnegan.  Karen received her Coaching Level 1 certification in 2004.

Karen is now schooling her young horse Cory in basic dressage and her daughter Robyn is showing him in the Adult Amateur and Pre-Green Hunter ring.

John Gillighan

Owner & Foreman

John acts as "Farm Foreman" - He is jack of all trades and master of them all!  You will see him on his tractor grading the riding ring, delivering round bales or grooming trails.  John grew up in the Annapolis Valley on a 500 acre dairy farm.  He knows how to run a farm!  From fencing, to getting 1000 bales of hay from the fields, to building new structures (like our indoor arena being constructed as we speak!), John can do it all.

John discovered a love for horses after being surrounded by them -  guess he had no choice after meeting and falling in love with Karen in high school!

Todd Hill Farm wouldn't exist without John!
