Funding

Do you know a low income family with a child who wants to ride?

Jumpstart/RecKids

The Jumpstart/RecKids Program is a joint effort between HRM Community Recreation Services and the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program to provide recreation opportunities to children, youth and families in financial need.

Jumpstart is designed to provide assistance to those who, due to lack of funds, would otherwise be unable to participate in sport, art, cultural, and recreation activities.

At this time, HRM supports registered non-profit organizations only.

Todd Hill Farm is a non-profit riding stable in Oakfield, NS (HRM) and we support the Jumpstart program.  We have had a few students take advantage of this funding already.  Now that spring is here, we wanted to let the local horse community know about this wonderful opportunity!

KidSport - Sport NS

There is also a program for sports funding through Sport Nova Scotia.

KidSport™ is a national children's program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.

KidSport™ Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.

In operation since 1994, KidSport™ Nova Scotia has assisted over 16,100 children totalling over $3.1 Million.

In 2012 KidSport™ Nova Scotia allocated over $515,000 to more than 1957 children from Sydney to Yarmouth!
